In order to better attend to the market, Smar policy is keep in very close contact to customers and representatives. Frequently the Board of Directors and R&D engineers make customers visits and attend exhibitions. Smar has exchange programs for engineers with the representatives to train them on Smar's products and expose Smar engineers directly to the customers. Being close to and satisfying the customer is one of our highest priorities.

Close to the customer also means prompt reply to technical questions and same day shipment of products and spares. The technical cooperation with our customers has also resulted in our LD302 being awarded the product recognition award in 1994 by Control Engineering Magazine, same occurring to our valve positioner FY302 in 1997.

Since the introduction of microprocessors in field instrumentation, back in the 80's, the technological leadership in the area has escaped the traditional companies. Smar has in the last 20 years demonstrated its vocation to develop products and solutions that turned out to be the market tendency:

  1. First to release a compact, high performance smart transmitter
  2. First to incorporate control and mathematical functions in field devices
  3. First to launch a chip for the physical layer of the international FIELDBUS
